Evaluation: A developmental OT evaluation of your child is an essential starting point in assembling an individualized plan that includes appropriate therapeutic approaches and goals.
Depending on your child's individual needs, the evaluation will include assessment of some or all of the following areas: Gross and Fine Motor Coordination, Visual Motor Integration, Visual Perceptual Skills, Emotional Regulation and Sensory Processing Skills.
The evaluation includes standardized evaluation tools, parent questionnaires and clinical observations all designed to give a complete picture of your child. A follow up caregiver meeting to review results and recommendations is included as part of the evaluation process.

A Typical Session:
Your child's occupational therapy experience will include a variety of sensory-rich activities aimed at improving balance, coordination, self-regulation, attention to task, fine motor skills, visual motor skills and much more.
A typical session may include a combination of work on the SI (Sensory Integration) equipment, fine motor activities, visual-motor tasks and tabletop work. Caregivers are encouraged to join our sessions in order to learn techniques and strategies to use with your child at home.
By using a play-based approach during sessions, building on each child's strengths and providing the"just right level of challenge" I can help your child improve and grow in her or his area of challenge…all while having fun and gaining confidence.
